Use an even floor

Irregular ground will result into your bench shaking which won’t be only uncomfortable for you but also slowly damage your bench over time.

Each time the bench shakes gives a shock to your bench unscrewing the elements but also weakening the wood.

To prevent your bench from a premature usage it is recommended to use it without any angle and on an even ground where it won’t be able to shake or balance while you play or sit on it.

Stay away from the sun

Just like for your skin the sunlight can be harmful to items and your bench is no exception.

The heat can make the wood expand beyond what they were supposed too which would leave permanent damage on the bench and weaken the structure of the wood.

The sunlight can also make the leather dry and morcelate due to UV which would expose underneath material that are more likely to break when you are in direct contact with them.

Give it some room

The pain on the wood of the bench is not only there to make it look good.

It is also here to protect the wood from external elements like water or more commonly your sweat.

It is important that you keep the bench at a certain distance from other elements in the room to prevent to keep shock it with them and damaging the paint.

That way the wooden parts of your bench would be able to last longer.

Do a regular checkup

Everything age and to keep them away from breaking there is no secret, you need to maintain them.

For that make regularly a tour of your bench to spot weaknesses as such as a untied screw or a damaged paint.

Theses kind of small issues can be easily fixed and will greatly help your bench to stay in a good state over the years.
